Weber Zeller Schwarze Katz Promotional Plate (The Black Cat From Zell)

A wonderful promotional plate from Germany.  It features the legendary black cat from Zell.  According to legend, a barrel of Zell wine was cellared with other winery barrels.  The black cat protected the Zell barrel only.  This making the Zell wine special in the eyes of local merchants.  The black cat then became a fixture in labeling and advertising for wines from the area.  The plate is in excellent vintage used condition.
